Our road trip last month took us to South Australia via Broken Hill, not somewhere we'd been before, but we'd highly recommend it. One of the highlights was a visit to the Broken Hill Distillery.
Broken Hill has a rich history steeped in mining, but also art and culture. The 'Living Desert' at sunset is a sight to behold and has to be one of the most stunning moments I've witnessed.
Art is everywhere in Broken Hill, none more so that Pro Hart. Influenced by his time in the mines, his sculptures feature throughout the town and a visit to his former home and now art gallery is a delight.
Getting back to the gin, the Broken Hill Distillery can be found at the back of the Tydvil Hotel and is a passion of Eric's, the owner. We were mightily impressed with both their Far West and Gunpowder Gins, both of which we now stock, and we're really honoured to be able to share this limited edition release with you, which sees 50% of proceeds going directly to Legacy Broken Hill. We only have the one bottle and it is this week's featured gin.
