Our Story 

Established in March 2020, The Sailor Bar & Kitchen was created by Northbridge residents Kieran and Rob. 

They saw the opportunity of bringing a new dining and drinking establishment to the local area and decided to take the plunge and create The Sailor.

As it turned out they took the keys on the morning of  Sydney's first lock down day and had to keep the doors firmly shut. However, they quickly pivoted and a week later, after some reorganising, they opened the front windows and started serving fish and chips and cocktails. 

 

During this first lockdown it gave Kieran and Rob an opportunity to settle in, decorate, meet many new locals and make new friends. It wasn't until 3 months later that the doors were finally allowed to open, welcoming all those who had supported them inside for the first time.

A year later, the opportunity was taken to extend the premises into the next door unit and the adjoining wall was removed allowing The Sailor to double in size. The additional space and the subsequent arrival of Chef Antonio the following year has now allowed Kieran and Rob to realise their ambition of creating a seafood inspired culinary experience; FitzRoy's at the Sailor.
